Linda Shiue, MD, Chef, Dip ABLM is an internal medicine, lifestyle and culinary medicine physician, professionally trained chef, and author of the award-winning cookbook, Spicebox Kitchen. She is the Director of Culinary Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, where she founded Thrive Kitchen, a teaching kitchen for patients, as well as a consultation service in Lifestyle Medicine and Culinary Medicine. Dr. Shiue is also the co-creator and lead instructor of the culinary medicine elective at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, where she is an Associate Clinical Professor. She serves on the boards of San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Meals on Wheels San Francisco and the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative. Dr. Shiue graduated from the Program in Liberal Medical Education at Brown University, the Internal Medicine residency at UCSF, the professional culinary program at San Francisco Cooking School (with an externship at the Michelin-starred restaurant Mourad), and has a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University.
