Emilie Berner, MA is a chef educator and integrative health coach. Emilie’s passion for food led her to train at The Natural Gourmet Institute for Health Supportive & Culinary Arts. She later earned a master’s degree in Food Studies from New York University. Her career has focused on the intersection of food, education, and wellness with positions at The Edible Schoolyard, The Sylvia Center, and most recently leading the Chef Peter X. Kelly Teaching Kitchen at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital. The program includes an organic garden, a farmers’ market, and food service for patients and employees. The program’s goal is to teach people how to better manage their health through diet and lifestyle changes. An interest in behavioral health led her to completing Duke’s Integrative Health Coaching program. Currently, she teaches at the Institute of Culinary Education and leads the Mental Fitness Kitchen and coaching program at Dr. Drew Ramsey’s clinic. Berner studied at Barnard College, where she received her BA in creative writing and psychology and lives in Los Angeles where she enjoys hiking, yoga, farmer’s markets, and learning jiu jitsu.
