Sky Hanka, 12’, MS, NBC-HWC is a consulting chef, culinary nutritionist, and educator with The Culinary Institute of America’s Consulting Team and Strategic Initiatives Group. A CIA graduate (’12) with a Master’s in Nutrition & Integrative Health and National Board Certification in Health & Wellness Coaching, she leads recipe and content development, facilitates professional and public trainings, manages the Hestan Teaching Kitchen Team, and serves as subject matter expert and on-camera chef for the CIA’s digital media team. Her approach to cooking and wellness is conscious, restorative, and functional—grounded in the belief that food is not just sustenance but medicine, culture, connection, and celebration. A Texas native, Sky’s passion for food, science, and nature has carried her across the U.S.—from managing farm-to-table kitchens and working in integrative health centers to crafting meals for UFC fighters and developing nationwide wellness and nutrition content. Today, she continues to explore food as a powerful tool for nourishing both people and the planet—bridging professional kitchens, nutrition, and education to inspire curiosity, foster connection, and spark meaningful change.
