Faculty Bio

Thomas B.H. Wong, C.E.C., is a chef-instructor at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. Throughout his high school years, Wong worked in the restaurant business; one of his uncles owned a bake shop in Hawaii, another a Chinese restaurant in California. It was then that he decided he wanted to be a chef. His career choice included a practical consideration: "As long as I can cook, I'll always be able to eat and I'll never starve." He is a graduate of the culinary arts program at Kapiolani Community College and The Culinary Institute of America. Chef Wong was one of the featured chefs in the Discovery Channel's Great Chefs of Hawaii and its companion cookbook.
