Guest Faculty Bio

Heather M. Peña, MD, is the Medical Director of Salus at Mayacama, an integrative program for comprehensive health assessment coupled with preventive strategies and healthy lifestyle promotion. The program is located at the Mayacama Resort in Santa Rosa, CA. Dr. Peña graduated from Harvard Medical School following a distinguished undergraduate career at Tufts, where she was Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She completed her residency in internal medicine at UCLA. Previously, Dr. Peña served as Medical Director of the St. Helena Center for Health, where she developed two new health programs. Prior to that, she was the Medical Director of the Pritikin Longevity Center. Dr. Peña is a frequent lecturer on such topics as heart disease and cancer prevention, nutrition and women’s health, and contributed a chapter on breast cancer prevention to the book Doctors Orders: What 101 Doctors Do to Stay Healthy.
